What is this crap? It's a simple little circuit I built connected
to the serial port that measures temperature. You can get the
serial
port temperature sensor from here. In time it will
grow into a project also connected through the parallel port.
That will allow the software components to control the environment with
both heating and cooling. Not only will the system be able to
keep a schedule, but additional sensors on the system could allow it to
'know' if there are people awake, sleeping, or absent in order to make
decisions about target temperatures. And I will be able to
control it from anywhere in the world. So all those times where I
suddenly travel across the continent and forget to adjust, I can set a
new schedule anyway.
